Styles of Wood Burning
My wood burnings are done on wood canvas or lumber pieces of different thickness and size.
Basswood, Pine, Poplar, Maple and Cedar wood are my usual. I have also used Oak, Cherry and Hickory.

A Bit of History
Wood burning art (Pyrography) is created by using a pen with a heated metallic tip. It is literally " drawing with fire". The image is burned onto the surface using different temperatures and pen tips.
This art has been around for centuries, and is created on surfaces such as wood, leather and gourds.
